Important Notice: Current Ben Lexcen Award holders do not need to complete the questions listed in the application form but to submit an updated CV to Helen Bryson (UNSW Sport and Recreation) for consideration of renewal.
It is expected that up to 20 scholarships will be available in 2012.
The scholarships are open to UNSW students who are undertaking a program of at least two years duration and who have an outstanding ability in a particular sport.
Recipients are expected to be active members of the UNSW sporting club for which the scholarship is awarded.
Recipients will be expected to participate in the Australian University Games/Championships in September if required.
There are no residency requirements.

Applicants will be assessed primarily on their sporting ability and must provide a Sporting Resume by completing the questions listed on the application form. Applicants must also provide a reference from their coach or club representative supporting their application.
In addition to sporting ability, consideration may also be given to an applicant's demonstrated leadership qualities and potential to contribute to the wider life of the University. Circumstances which might otherwise hinder successful transition to, or continued study at UNSW may also be taken into account.
