Scholarship Description

The Criminal Justice Research Consortium (CJRC), a network of participants from a number of faculties of Monash University, is seeking a talented and highly motivated PhD student to join the above study. This scholarship is funded by the ARC as part of a large-scale study of 200 prisoners and their families across Victoria and NSW (LP110100084). The study will investigate how the care needs of children can be best met when a primary carer is incarcerated and to propose a best practice care planning framework. Supervision will be provided by at least 3 members of the multi-disciplinary research team. It is anticipated the successful PhD candidate will conduct an in-depth study of 20 families, employing qualitative methods to identify new hypotheses relating to care planning for children in an identified group.

This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from March 16, 2011 until April 30, 2011.


Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD27222 (per annum). This award is to be used for research. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.


Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES AND ARTS - GENERAL. It is required that your study starts no earlier than June 1, 2011 and no later than July 30, 2011.


Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. AUS permanent resident can apply.
