The Acciona Women in Engineering and Construction Management Scholarship has been developed to support and encourage female students entering a course in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Construction Management who have strong passion for solving engineering challenges.

The Acciona Women in Engineering and Construction Management Scholarship will provide the following support for up to a maximum of four years (based on a full-time enrolment of 100 credits):
- A total value of up to $40,000 paid as a cash stipend of $5,000 per semester. The amount can be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards educational related expenses
- Guaranteed paid vacation work with ACCIONA
- Possible paid part-time work during the semester
Scholarship Details
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), with intentions of enrolling into Mechanical Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering major from second year.
Recipients enrolled in Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) must enrol into Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours) or Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) (Honours) to retain the scholarship from second year onward.
Double degrees combined with Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours), Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) (Honours) and Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) considered.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Acciona Women in Engineering and Construction Management Scholarship:
- Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
- Selected Curtin as a preference through TISC or apply direct to Curtin by the scholarship closing date to undertake an eligible degree in 2025
- Receive an eligible course offer and will enrol full-time (75 credits per study period) into the eligible course at Curtin University in Semester 1, 2025
- Achieve an ATAR of 80 or above for Bachelor of Engineering
- Achieve an ATAR of 70 or above for Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management)
- Identify as female
Application process
Step 1: Access online application form
- Applications are to be submitted using the online application form. Access the form by clicking on the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page

Step 2: Complete
- Complete the application form online
- Application form can be saved at any point of the process
- Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time

Step 3: Submit
- Closing date is listed at the top of the page
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed
- Once submitted, application status will change to submitted
Step 4: Receipt
- Application receipt will be sent to the email address provided when you created your Curtin account, once your application has been submitted
Step 5: Assessment
- Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
- Receipt of an offer of a place into an eligible degree at Curtin University in 2025
- Responses to questions in application form
- Demonstrated academic potential
- Interview performance (for shortlisted applicants)
Step 6: Shortlist for Interview
- Shortlisted applicants will be sent an interview date and time via the email address listed through TISC or your direct Curtin course application (late November)
- Shortlisted applicants must be available for the designated interview time (mid December).
Step 7: Outcome
- Outcome will be sent via the email address listed through TISC or your direct Curtin course application after main round course offers (all successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified)
Step 8: Acceptance
- Successful applicants must return acceptance documents by the deadline specified in the terms and conditions
- Deferral of this scholarship is not permitted
Please note:
- Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit.
Enrolment Requirements
Recipients must meet all of the following:
- Remain enrolled in initial course of study
- Maintain a full time study load of at least 75 credit points each study period at Curtin University
- If enrolled in Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), must enrol full time (minimum 75 credits) from second year onward in Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours) or Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) (Honours) at Curtin University.
- Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 65 each study period
- Pass all units attempted each study period
- Paid vacation work is optional and the recipient is highly encouraged to participate if offered
- Paid part time work is optional and the recipient is highly encouraged to participate if offered
- Not be in receipt of any other scholarship from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose
