About this scholarship

The Technical Resources Scholarship has been developed by Technical Resources Pty Ltd to support first or second year students experiencing financial need and undertaking undergraduate degree programs that are critical to the future of engineering.

Technical Resources Pty Ltd is an Australian owned and managed engineering recruitment (labour hire) consultancy that specialises in placing people into the engineering market. Technical Resources supply people within all disciplines of engineering and drafting, construction management, project services/controls, safety/environment and all administration needs.

The Technical Resources Scholarship will provide the following support for up to a maximum of four years (based on a full-time study load of 100 credits per semester):

  • A total value of up to $20,000 paid as a cash stipend of $2,500 per semester. The amount can be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards educational related expenses.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Technical Resources Scholarship:

  • Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
  • Commencing 1st or 2nd year of an eligible degree at Curtin University in semester 1, 2024
  • Enrolled full-time (100 credits) in semester 1, 2024
  • Minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 50 applies for 2nd year students
  • Demonstrated financial hardship
  • Not currently in receipt of any other industry sponsored scholarship

*Preference given to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students


Application process

Step 1: Access application form

  • Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
  • Please note that this link will direct you to the general "Equity Scholarship Program " application form. Once you submit your application, you will then be considered for all scholarships that you are eligible for in this round.
  • If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for all other scholarships (both equity as well as merit scholarships) available in this round, we recommend that you apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program here (only one application form to complete).

Step 2: Complete

  • Complete the application form online
  • Application form can be saved at any point of the process
  • Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time

Step 3: Submit

  • Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
  • Incomplete applications will not be assessed
  • Once submitted, application status will change to submitted

Step 4: Receipt

  • Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted

Step 5: Assessment

  • Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
    • Demonstrated financial hardship
    • Responses to questions in application form
    • Academic merit
    • Demonstrated commitment and strong interest to pursue a career in the engineering and construction management industry
    • Preference given to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants

Step 6: Outcome

  • All successful and unsuccessful applicants notified of their outcome via the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS) within 6-8 weeks of the scholarship closing date

Step 7: Acceptance

  • Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline

Please note:

  • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit and need
  • Scholarship is not transferable to another major, course or university
  • The award and continuity of the scholarship is subject to receipt by Curtin of the scholarship funding from the scholarship sponsor


Enrolment Requirements

Recipients must meet all of the following:

  • Remain enrolled in eligible course and major of study
  • Maintain a fulltime study load of 100 credits per semester at Curtin University
  • Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 50 each semester
  • Pass all units attempted
