About this scholarship
The Planet Positive Scholarship supports students completing either a Planet Positive Undergraduate Certificate or Planet Positive Specialisation.
The new Planet Positive program launched by Curtin University responds to a call from the generation who will need to deal with climate change and other critical environmental challenges. The program will equip students from all course backgrounds with the knowledge and skills to champion positive environmental change.

The Planet Positive Scholarship will provide the following support:
- Up to $5,000 paid direct to student tuition fees ($1,250 per unit in the Planet Positive UG Cert/Specialisation)*
- Access to the learning community to enhance the student experience - Extracurricular activities including, forums and industry engagement opportunities which will connect students with each other and industry
*If a current student has already completed some units in the Planet Positive UG Cert/Specialisation, the scholarship amount will be split among the remaining units

- Planet Positive Undergraduate Certificate

- Not available to international students as this course is not CRICOS registered
- Planet Positive Specialisation
- Students undertaking an undergraduate degree (bachelor's) with Planet Positive (SPUC-PLNET) as a specialisation

Please ensure that you are enrolled in the specialisation by the scholarships closing date. If you are not enrolled by the scholarships closing date, your application will be considered ineligible.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Planet Positive Scholarship:
- Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident (PR), holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa (PHV), or International student
- Have a minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 50 (applicable to students with a CWA)
- Enrolled in a minimum of 25 credits* in an eligible course at Curtin University in semester 2, 2024
*Students enrolled in the bachelor courses with the specialisation are not required to be enrolled into the specialisation units to be considered eligible. Your eligibility will be based on your course's overall enrolment.
Application process
Step 1: Access application form
- Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
Step 2: Complete
- Complete the application form online
- Application form can be saved at any point of the process
- Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time
- Tips on how to complete your application can be found on the ‘Applying for scholarships’ page on the scholarships website
Step 3: Submit
- Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed
- Once submitted, application status will change to submitted
Step 4: Receipt
- Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted
Step 5: Assessment
- Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
- Responses to questions in application form
- Academic achievements
- Passion for sustainability
- Extracurriculars
Step 6: Outcome
- All successful and unsuccessful applicants notified of their outcome via the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS) within 3 weeks of the scholarship closing date
Step 7: Acceptance
- Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline
Please note:
- Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit
Enrolment Requirements
Recipients must meet all of the following:
- Remain enrolled in initial course of study
- Maintain an enrolment of 25 credits each study period at Curtin University
- Allowed to fail one unit within the specialisation/UG Certificate BUT will not receive additional support
