About this scholarship

National Council of Women of WA are calling for nominations for the Science, Technology & Mathematics (STEM) Bursary. The bursary is available to female students studying a STEM course in Western Australia at TAFE or University level.

Applicants must be Australian citizens and must address the criteria listed in the Bursary application form.
In awarding the Bursary, NCWWA aims to:

  • Recognise academic excellence
  • Address financial need
  • Encourage in areas non-traditional for women
  • Recognise the extent to which studies will benefit women, families and the wider community


  • Current Students
  • Future Students

  • Faculty of Science & Engineering
    • Science courses
    • Engineering courses
    • Western Australian School of Mines (WASM)

  • Undergraduate

  • Australian Citizen

  • Need Based
  • Merit Based

The cash amount:

  • One off payment of $1,200 will be presented to the successful applicant.

May be used to support further study:

  • Course fees including summer school courses
  • Study aids / textbooks
  • Attendance at seminars and/or conferences
  • Other - please outline

Complimentary membership of NCWWA will be provided to bursary winners for one year.

Must meet the following criteria:

  • female student
  • studying a STEM course in Western Australia at TAFE or University level

Please note:

  • The bursary winners will be announced on April 2023
  • Applicants will be notified of the results by post after that date
  • The decision of the award panel will be final
  • All bursary recipients are required to report to NCWWA on how the bursary has assisted their study


Enrolment Requirements

The bursary is available to female students studying a STEM course in Western Australia at a Year 12, TAFE or University level.
