Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in bioinformatics at the Laboratory of Experimental Medicine at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium for a project recently funded by the JDRF international and entitled Mining splice variants to identify novel targets for beta cell imaging. We study novel biomarkers for beta cell imaging and molecular mechanisms of pancreatic beta-cell dysfunction and death in diabetes mellitus. Eligibility criteria

A solid background in bioinformatics (specially analysis of microarray and RNAseq data) is an absolute requirement. Experience with cell/molecular biology and/or diabetes research is a positive point, but is not absolutely required. This 2-year postdoctoral position starts in January/February 2012 (starting date can be negotiated) and the position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
