Job Overview: Our client requires certified English Teachers for an attractive 2-year opportunity (renewable) in the highly respected and recognized Government Program to teach in public schools (grades 8-12) in the UAE. Pre-approved candidates will be invited to attend a mandatory in-person interview hosted by the client. The in-person interviews will take place in Toronto on April 29th and 30th. Positions start as soon as visa paperwork is complete.

Benefits: English Teachers will be paid 21,000 Dirhams per month which is equivalent to US$5700 Tax Free. This total amount includes an accommodation subsidy. There are summer vacation and national holidays amounting to 42 days annual leave. The employer will provide medical insurance for self and eligible family members, mobilization costs (for staff locating from another country), end of service benefits, and repatriation back to your home country (for eligible employees). Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in English or Linguistics, or a B.Ed with a teachable subject in English; a TESL/TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate; a MA in Applied Linguistics or MA TESL would be highly valued as an asset. Experience should include a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in the EFL/ESL field (with experience of competency-based and interactive learning strategies); Evidence of continual professional development and a proactive approach to career progression; some experience with teacher support and/or curriculum and assessment development planning. US, Canadian and UK passport holders. Teachers must be 52 years of age or under as per visa regulations in the UAE.

Additional Details: English Teachers are the first point of contact for students, and it is their responsibility for maintaining effective communication channels between the teaching staff and management. They must also ensure implementation of the curriculum and assessment strategy in a trainee-centered manner in the respected government program; and to provide the delivery of professional development programmes to support school-wide reform. English Teachers are supported by a Zone Specialist with each member contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning materials. English Teachers may work with other discipline specialists in a technology-enabled environment to coordinate assignments and projects.

Organization Overview: The respected Government Program has a network of K-12 schools across Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates. They comprise of Male and Female Campuses. The client has been mandated to bring onboard 400+ teachers. New teachers will enhance and develop the student learning experience and bring onboard western teaching methods and practices.
