This position is internal to University of Colorado ORP retirees.

Job Summary:

A Part-Time 40% FTE Faculty Clinical Instructor position is available for an independent and motivated individual to study the genotype, phenotype and pathogenesis of inherited cardiomyopathies in the collaborative group of Luisa Mestroni, MD, and Matthew Taylor, MD, PhD (Cardiovascular Institute and Dept. of Medicine, University of Colorado Denver – Anschutz Medical Campus). The group utilizes molecular genetics, bioinformatics, and functional genomics to determine molecular mechanisms caused by mutant genes identified by our group that cause inherited cardiomyopathies. The research group routinely use large databases, -omics repositories, cellular models (induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes and isolated cardiomyocytes) and animal models to address our scientific questions. This position focuses in particular on coordination of large patient datasets, biobanks and biorepositories, and bioinformatics. In addition, we have strong interest in preclinical research by connecting our basic science discoveries with human medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Patient recruitment as Board Certified Genetic Counselor

·       Biobank supervision

·       Redcap Databases management and supervision

·       Paper writing

·       Grant writing

·       Bioinformatic analysis of genetic and genomic data

·       Management of National and International collaborations

·       IRB documents submission and contact

 

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in City, State.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

 

  • PhD in Biophysics and Genetics
  • Board Certified Genetic Counselor

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·       Molecular genetics techniques

·       Bioinformatic techniques

  • Experience in grant writing

·       Experience in scientific publication

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $42.19 per hour.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
