Job Summary
 

The Work Study Student will support the Department of Art as a Studio Technician on the Statesboro Campus beginning Summer 2024. 
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities
 
  • Assists the Studio Technician in art/design studios
  • Uses basic hand and/or power tools
  • Follows safety procedures when handling art
  • Runs campus errands
  • Stages and cleans up for gallery events
  • Responsible for transporting various materials and artwork.
  • Performs general studio and lab maintenance
  • Performs general administrative tasks: transfers calls, files documents, and paperwork
  • Secures space at the end of shift (shutting down equipment, wiping down surfaces, and locking doors)

Shift Specifics

  • Up to 17 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications
 

Preferred Education

  • Currently pursing a degree in Art, Graphic Design or related field

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with tools and art literacy

Proposed Salary
 

$10.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
