Job Summary | The College of Education at the University of Kentucky invites applications for the tenure track William T. Bryan Endowed Chair in Special Education Technology, at the associate or full professor level, regular title series, tenure- eligible. The appointment is a nine-month appointment, effective August 16, 2024. Responsibilities for this position include: • Pursuit of an active program of research and scholarship • Preparation and submission of proposals for extramural funding of research projects • Teaching courses in technology applications for individuals with disabilities • Teaching courses in special education • Recruitment and advisement of graduate students, particularly doctoral students • Provision of service to the university, community, and profession. The qualifications for this position include at a minimum: • An earned doctoral in special eduation with a background in any area of disability • Distinguished scholarly record focused on technology applications in special education including instructional, assistive, distance learning, or other forms of technology • Demonstrated success in securing and administering projects and grants related to the use of technology in special educaiton • Acknowledged excellence in teaching with special emphasis on mentoring doctoral students • Commitment to diversity • Exemplary record of providing leadership to schools, agencies, and professional organizations that improve the education and quality of life of individuals with disabilities The endowment supporting this position provides monetary support to further the faculty member’s research activies and may be used for graduate student support, travel, equipment, and other research materials.
