Role Overview:
As the Assistant Director of WestStar Leadership, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the program's mission and objectives. Working closely with the Director, you will contribute to the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all program activities. Your focus will be on providing exceptional leadership, operational oversight, and participant engagement to ensure the program's success while also supervising a team of employees, including a Program Manager, Budget Coordinator, and Student Worker.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management
•    Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement program goals, objectives, and strategies.
•    Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, logistics, budgeting, and resource allocation.
•    Supervise the Program Manager, Budget Coordinator, and Student Worker, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
•    Monitor program metrics and outcomes to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
•    Ensure compliance with program policies, procedures, and industry standards.

Participant Engagement
•    Serve as a primary point of contact for program participants, providing guidance, support, and resources as needed.
•    Facilitate workshops, seminars, and networking events to foster participant learning, growth, and community building.
•    Solicit feedback from participants to enhance their experience and address any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
•    Build and maintain strong relationships with program alumni, sponsors, and stakeholders to sustain engagement and support.

Alumni Relations
•    Develop and implement strategies to engage and connect with program alumni, fostering a vibrant and supportive network.
•    Organize alumni events, reunions, and networking opportunities to facilitate ongoing professional development and collaboration.
•    Coordinate alumni mentoring and volunteer opportunities to support current participants and enhance program impact.
•    Collect feedback from alumni to assess program effectiveness and identify opportunities for alumni involvement and support.

Curriculum Development
•    Assist in the design, development, and delivery of program curriculum, workshops, and training materials.
•    Research and integrate best practices, emerging trends, and industry insights into program content.
•    Collaborate with subject matter experts and guest speakers to ensure high-quality educational experiences for participants.
•    Evaluate curriculum effectiveness and recommend adjustments based on participant feedback and program goals.

Supervision and Team Management
•    Supervise the Program Manager, Budget Coordinator, and Student Worker, providing direction, mentorship, and support.
•    Coordinate team meetings, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
•    Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging creativity, innovation, and professional growth.

Marketing and Outreach
•    Support marketing efforts to promote program awareness, recruit participants, and attract sponsors.
•    Provide administrative support and coordination for the Tennessee Association of Community Leadership (TACL)
•    Develop marketing materials, website content, and social media campaigns to engage target audiences.
•    Represent WestStar Leadership at conferences, events, and networking opportunities to expand program reach and visibility.
•    Cultivate partnerships with external organizations, educational institutions, and community leaders to enhance program impact and sustainability.

Responsibilities shall include all other duties as assigned.

 



Qualifications

 

Candidate Requirements:
•    Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, leadership studies, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
•    3+ years of experience in program management, leadership development, or related field.
•    Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
•    Proficiency in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and online collaboration platforms.
•    Knowledge of leadership theories, adult learning principles, and organizational development practices.
•    Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in program design and implementation.
