Position Summary:
The Webmaster and Digital Strategy Specialist serves as the primary digital lead in Office of University Marketing and Communication (MARCOMM) at Arkansas Tech University, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communication. They are an active member of the MARCOMM team working closely with faculty and staff across campus to support key enrollment, philanthropic and institutional goals across digital platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy designed to support key enrollment, philanthropic and institutional goals across digital platforms
Leads and oversees day-to-day operations of website platforms and stays up-to-date with digital technology development
Direct the development and production of the digital portion of university marketing efforts
Direct the development and maintenance of the ATU public web domain
Support and develop strategy for @arkansastech social media accounts, with a focus on content, promotion, engagement, and conversion strategies
Identify Key Performance Indicators to measure web engagement and prepare analytics-based reports to demonstrate growth and progress toward goals
Position will work to ensure accessibility best practices on the ATU website
Work closely with divisions, departments and programs to enhance content, design and features for web presence
Manages all assigned projects related to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
Consults with internal clients regarding project scope, strategy and content for web presence and email marketing as it pertains to specific projects, programs or events
Partner with Enrollment Management Operations as necessary to coordinate set-up, targeting, and deployment of communications delivered via the CRM.
Provides leadership to the Web Operations Specialist, Digital Media Coordinator, and multiple student workers
Other Duties as assigned by the Director of MARCOMM
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with Digital strategy best practices
Strong understanding of web design within a CMS
Strong knowledge of web analytics tools like Google Analytics, Google Adwords, and Google Tag Manager
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytic and project management skills
Strong ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, information technology or related field
3-5 years experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Prior experience working in higher education
Previous experience utilizing a content management software
Successful experience with implementing SEO best practices
Supervisory experience
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
Office is located at Browning Hall on the Arkansas Tech University campus in Russellville. Ability to work at a computer station for extended periods of time.
Some night and weekend work may be required.
