Position Summary
Visiting instructor to teach four courses per semester in media production skills and concepts.


Detailed Position Information
The University of Alabama’s Department of Journalism and Creative Media seeks a nine-month, visiting instructor in media production. The teaching load is four courses per semester, and the position is benefits eligible. The candidate will maintain the department’s ability to provide core concept and skills media production courses. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in documentary storytelling, narrative storytelling, or video production. Preference will be given to candidates able to bridge these areas. Potential teaching assignments may include Motion Picture History and Criticism, Introduction to Media Production, Motion Graphics, Video for Digital Content, and Ethics in Film and TV.


Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree in journalism, mass communication or a closely-related field is required. Commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues from different backgrounds and disciplines, engaging students with varied needs and interests, and preparing the next generation of creative media professionals to effectively serve all members of their communities is expected.


Preferred Qualifications
Experience in teaching media production preferred.
