Position Summary:
The School of Art & Art History at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa invites applications for a visiting instructor position in Animation. This is a 9 month appointment to begin August 2024. Candidates should be prepared to contribute School of Art and Art History’s programs with teaching expertise that advances global awareness and interdisciplinary knowledge.
An essential position in a fast-growing Animation program, the candidate will teach four undergraduate courses per semester. Candidates must be able to teach animation courses ranging from undergraduate non-majors to art specialization majors. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and theoretical foundation, as well as an expansive approach that embraces the evolving role of the moving image in a global society. A demonstrated record of producing, presenting, and exhibiting creative original work is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualification Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience that meet national and/or regional accreditation standards.
- Demonstrable experience in creative applications of moving image animation with an emphasis in 2D and/or 3D animation.
- Knowledge of current practices, techniques, technology, and issues as related to teaching Animation are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MFA is preferred.
- Evidence of professional scholarly, creative research
