The mission of the Department of Sociology is to foster teaching research, and public service as an integral part of education linked through programs designed to preserve, transmit, and expand knowledge.
Position Summary
The Department of Sociology at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure track instructional position that will begin August 10, 2024.
We seek an individual with expertise in the Sociology of Race and Ethnicity, Race Relations, Race and Racism, or Racial Inequalities and a demonstrated ability to teach 200-level, 300 or 400-level sociology courses in these areas . The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a [3-3] teaching load.
Required Qualifications
Required: A Master’s degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred: A Ph.D. or ABD is preferred at the time appointment begins (August 10, 2024). Previous teaching experience in a university setting is preferred, as is the demonstrated ability to teach in the area of Race and Ethnicity.
