Job Summary
The School of Public Policy invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term Visiting Assistant Professor in Public Policy position.
This visiting position is anticipated to begin Fall 2024 through Spring 2026.
The School of Public Policy at Oregon State University invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in Public Policy beginning Fall 2024. Candidates whose research and teaching interests align with OSU’s strategic goals are preferred: climate science and related solutions, robotics, clean energy and related solutions, and integrated health and biotechnology. We especially welcome candidates committed to inclusive pedagogies and fostering access for marginalized and underrepresented students.
This position consists of teaching (54%), research (36%), and service (10%). The teaching load is two courses per term over three quarters annually. Teaching responsibilities include Public Policy graduate level courses in our nationally accredited graduate program (NASPAA), focusing on graduate research methods, with a particular interest in qualitative research methods, and undergraduate/graduate slash courses in a specialized topic, ideally in line with the abovementioned areas. The position involves teaching classes on the Corvallis campus and through our award-winning Ecampus online degree programs. The position includes mentoring and support for advancing one’s scholarship. Service includes committee work for the School and College, as well as service to the profession.
All candidates must have teaching experience and a Ph.D. in Public Policy, Political Science, or closely related field by time of appointment.
