Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology position for the Behavioral Science Department, beginning August 15, 2024. 


Essential Functions
  • Teaching four courses per semester, such as, but not limited to, Introduction to Sociology & Global Community: Cultural Diversity & Interaction. This is a face-to-face program, but there may be opportunities to teach some online courses
  • Participating in department and college service, such as, but not limited to, collecting data from courses for program assessment, attending department meetings, and representing the department at various university functions
  • Engaging in professional development activities, such as, but not limited to, training and workshops to help faculty teach online, implement active learning strategies in the classroom or support creating course assessment tools

Minimum Requirements

Prior to the effective date of the appointment, the candidate should have all of the following:
• A PhD in Sociology (candidates who have completed all coursework for a PhD program and are considered ABD will be considered).
• At least one academic year of collegiate teaching experience.  

This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
