Job Description
 

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Missouri seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in biological anthropology for the 2024-2025 academic year who will contribute to the department’s focus on scientific approaches to studies of human biology, behavior, culture, and evolution. Candidates are expected to contribute to the department research culture by having an active research program and serving as mentors for student research. The Department of Anthropology at the University of Missouri seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in biological anthropology for the 2024-2025 academic year who will contribute to the department’s focus on scientific approaches to studies of human biology, behavior, culture, and evolution. Candidates are expected to contribute to the department research culture by having an active research program and serving as mentors for student research.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the four-field Introduction to Anthropology course and Introduction to Biological Anthropology with Lab. Additional courses will include both lower- and upper-level/grad courses and will draw on the candidate's area of expertise. The teaching load will be 3 courses each semester.

Appointment period:  August 1, 2024 - May 31, 2025.  


Qualifications
 

Minimum Qualifications: A PhD in Anthropology or a related field is required at the time employment begins.
