Position Summary

This position is for a 2-year renewable teaching track or visiting assistant professor faculty in the MBA in Business Analytics program. The position will begin August 2024 and extends until May, 2026. Successful candidates will teach graduate courses for the MBA in Business Analytics and undergraduate courses as needed in the discipline area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The functions below are detailed in the faculty handbook in Volume IV of the Institutional Policy Manual.
  • Teach 24-27 credit hours in the academic year or as otherwise specified by the faculty member’s appointment notice; student course evaluations are to be completed in each course. Faculty are expected to employ sound pedagogical practices and to use technology as appropriate, including the University’s learning management system. Faculty shall assist with course revisions and curriculum development as needed.
  • Achieve appropriate student-learning outcomes in all courses taught.
  • Participate in service to the University, the community and to their profession. Attend convocations, commencement exercises and community meetings.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Assist, advise and mentor students enrolled in the University if required by the Program.
  • Fulfill the essential duties and responsibilities of a faculty member as described in Volume IV of the Gannon University Institutional Policy Manual which contains the approved policies and procedures of the University concerning the terms and conditions of faculty employment at the University.

  • CONTACT WITH OTHERS
    Internal: Work collaboratively and strategically with colleagues (administrators, faculty and staff) and students.
    External: Work collaboratively and strategically with local and regional partners. Support efforts towards recruitment and marketing. Faculty interact with parents/family and students. Interactions with potential supporters of scholarship.

    Required Qualifications
    Education: A doctoral degree from an accredited institution in business administration, business computer information systems, business/data analytics, or a closely related field. This position requires proficiency with advanced features of Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, and the ability to apply analytic techniques to discipline specific areas. Other technologies related to the candidate’s discipline will be required. Statistics, predictive analytics, SQL and Python skills are desired. Candidates expecting to complete their dissertation by August 2024 will be considered. Previous academic experience is preferred.
    Rank: In accordance with the University’s standards, the Provost awards initial rank at the time of employment.
    Licenses and Certifications: Relevant certifications in business analytics are preferred but not required.
