Position Description
The Department of Biostatistics at New York University School of Global Public Health is seeking applications for a non-tenure track Visiting Associate Professor faculty position to begin in Fall 2023. Candidates are expected to have: (1) a doctoral degree in an area related to Biostatistics, and (2) teaching experience in biostatistics.  This is a 12-month position.

The School of Global Public Health (GPH) offers academic degrees at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels. The undergraduate program includes 13 joint majors where students study public health along with other complementary subjects. The Department of Biostatistics offers MPH and MS degrees, and a PhD within the GPH PhD program in Public Health.  Faculty in the department also participate in a school-wide, newly-launched DrPH degree.  The Department is interested in recruiting an outstanding faculty member who can strengthen and contribute to our course offerings. In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is Visiting Assistant: $106,000 - $166,000 | Visiting Associate: $117,000 - 177,000 . This pay range represents base pay only (for 9 months OR for 12 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.


Qualifications

We are seeking to fill the position of non-tenure track Visiting Assistant/Associate Professor with an emphasis on teaching. The candidate is expected to engage in teaching, student advisement, and to take part in service-related academic activities (e.g., supervise Master’s theses; advise students).
