Job Summary/Responsibilities
This position will staff the Virtual Learning Center (VLC) and collaborate with the Library Systems unit and Virtual Learning Librarian in the use of the space. The primary responsibility will be to assist students, staff, and faculty in the utilization of Virtual Reality (VR) equipment at the Thomas G. Carpenter Library.
Specific duties include:
  • Check out VR equipment/spaces to users
  • Answer user inquires in person, by phone and online as needed
  • Introduce users to VR technology
  • Configure and maintain VR Headsets and Software
  • Ensure users follow safety and usage guidelines for the space
  • Clean and sanitize equipment per defined procedures
  • Keep the VLC neat and orderly
  • Report any issues with equipment to Library Systems personnel
  • Assist the Virtual Learning Librarian and other library faculty in facilitating instructional use of the space
  • Assist Library Systems personnel with tasks and projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a current UNF student
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Comfortable learning and assisting others with using new software and hardware
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology issues
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience using VR equipment
  • STEM major
