Position Summary
The University of the Incarnate Word is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Video Production Graduate Assistant. This position’s responsibilities include producing streams for all UIW home events including football, baseball, basketball, softball, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, swim and dive, and others as requested. This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.
Essential Functions
  • Assist with the video board and game entertainment for sporting events, assisting with social media highlights and pre-production elements.
  • Produce the live streaming and coverage of all home UIW athletic events.
  • Setup and takedown of equipment and producing a quality stream while incorporating all sponsorship assets.
  • Shoot video and edit it for use for the department of athletics.
  • Aid in the hiring and management of work studies and volunteers.
  • Assist in the production of additional UIW features as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to self-starter and have the ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Knowledge of broadcast equipment and the structure of a live broadcast.
  • Exemplify a go-getter attitude and willingness to support the greater good of the team.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference and the NCAA.
Required Education
Must be a currently enrolled graduate student at UIW.
Required Work Experience
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, video cameras, Tri-Caster, or 3 Play.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in any of the following: graphic design, video editing, photography, audio technician, camera operating.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
none.
Work Hours
Hours will vary. Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 pounds waist high.
  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time.
