POSITION SUMMARY
The University of San Francisco (USF) is searching for an accomplished video producer to aid the Office of Marketing Communications (OMC) in its commitment to provide effective, compelling, agency-quality marketing communications university-wide.
The Video Producer (Videographer, Editor) will report to a senior-ranking Producer under the Creative Director and work alongside other creative professionals as a member of the Creative Team within OMC.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of professional experience in multimedia production specializing in videography and video editing, with additional capabilities in photography. Experience with After Effects is a big plus. Familiarity with a variety of filming approaches including documentary, event coverage, testimonial, and promotional will be useful and appreciated. Key capabilities include strength in project management and organization, being proactive, having professional and clear communication, and keen attention to detail.

Full Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ideate and execute video content for Institutional advertising and promotion, school and program stories, event coverage, student and alumni messaging, internal art and communications. 
  • Follow creative direction and translate creative briefs into clear, compelling, high-quality work.
  • Deliver work on time and successfully operate within project schedules, budgets, and other parameters. 
  • Storyboard, coordinate logistics, test and set lighting, establish angles and operate multiple cameras, select music tracks, record voiceovers, integrate sound design, animation, and editorial effects. 
  • Work under the direction of the senior multimedia staff and creative director and within the purview of the multimedia production manager.
  • Collaborate with designers, writers, social media team, and other creative staff on ideation, presentation, execution, and delivery of the work. 
  • Support the edits of contracted photographers and videographers and student intern photography/videography, as needed in order to maintain a uniform look-and-feel of all USF visual elements.
  • Support in securing locations, appearance releases, scouting, interfacing with talent and other logistics as needed.
  • Train and mentor student interns; assuring the quality of their work.
  • Oversee and maintain USF's multimedia library.
  • Upload finished projects to university digital asset manager (DAM), WIDEN, with captioning, tagging, title/description and other asset management tools.
  • Maintain our video media channels (Vimeo, YouTube) with video, descriptions and titles plus accessibility. 
  • Stay abreast of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and implementing strategies, workflows, and protocols as necessary to comply with accessibility regulations as it applies to videography and other multimedia assets.
  • Assist in keeping dept equipment updated, cataloged, and maintained/cleaned/ready for use.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to photography, videography, multimedia or marketing or proven experience within the field of multimedia.
  • Demonstrated record of producing agency-quality, published visual content via an online portfolio. 
  • Advanced experience using the Adobe Creative Suite products with emphasis on Adobe Premiere,Lightroom, and Photoshop. Experience with Adobe After effects for 2D animation/compositing and Davinci Resolve for color grading is a plus.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines. Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and improve procedures with limited supervision.
  • Highly organized with a strong record of working independently, meeting deadlines and attention to detail. 
  • Evenings and weekends assignments are required as needed. There are several points within the academic calendar that require longer hours or weekend assignments.
  • Availability for occasional out of town travel.
  • Presence in the San Francisco office at least once weekly.
  • Experience in shooting on Canon systems is a plus. 
  • This is a physically demanding position. Able to lift 40lbs and stand for long periods of time.
  • Understanding of and capabilities in audio mixing, music mixing and sound effects.

Salary Range :

The starting salary for this position is $67,000/yr - $70,000/yr. Offers will be based on candidate experience and education, as well as equity within the University of San Francisco.
