Position Summary Information


Primary Purpose
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for SF Campus Technology, develop, redesign, design, engineer, maintain, improve, support, project manager, implement and fix audio visual systems, digital signage infrastructure, lecture capture system and apple machines and devices. In addition to daily operations, this position will be involved with a significant amount of both vendor and customer interaction in technical design and implementation of projects.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain video conference infrastructure and its associated software, including integrated call
    management systems, digital technologies, educational media, lecture capture, video and
    audio-conferencing, web conferencing , distance learning technologies and school’s room reservation system.
  • Provide support for video conferencing technologies and audio, video, and classroom
    multimedia hardware and software, web conferencing and learning technologies including
    but not limited to clickers, lecture capture and on demand course video, live & postproduction.
  • Coordinate the efforts of IT members and third-party contractors and consultants to manage the school’s video conferencing, classroom technology infrastructure and digital signage end point technology, maintenance, and support.
  • Create and maintain computer-based teaching aids as needed. Develop technical
    documentation on IT-video Conference related tools and processes, conferences practices,
    protocols concepts, practices, and procedures including security.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide support in installation, implementation, and maintenance
    of video conference systems, and voice/data equipment.
  • Collaborate with Instructional Design Support Specialist in supporting and implementing
    educational technology.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry standards and innovation of systems and
    software. Research and evaluate new software, hardware and technology for incorporation
    into the school’s video conferencing and classroom technology infrastructure. Interact with
    other departments and administration on computer-based educational policies and projects.
  • Project manages AV projects, design and integration working with vendors to advise the
    school of all design shortcomings and pitfalls.
    Project manage AV programming and user interface design for Sim Lab Develop a UI
    wireframe based on user requirements and classroom standard operating procedures. Work
    with the AV vendor programmers to maintain standards across all rooms, debugging
    programming and ensuring a working system is delivered.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain apple machine and SCCM device management framework
    for the San Francisco Dental Campus. Develop standard operating procedures for new
    machines and devices, configuration profiles and self-service application distribution.
    Manage apple VPP and DEP accounts for the school.
    Implement, maintain, and support the SF campus lecture capture system. Improve the
    lecture capture system integration where possible augmenting application program interfaces
    and audio-visual systems hardware and programming.
  • Improve whether through design, engineering, or project management the audio-visual
    systems, lecture capture systems, digital signage systems and apple machine and device
    management framework at the SF dental campus.
    Perform all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for SF Campus
    Technology.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:
  • Video conference systems, call management systems, video hosting services.
  • Installation, implementation, and maintenance of audio-visual systems, digital signage
  • infrastructure, lecture capture systems, apple management frameworks, video conference
  • systems, and voice/data equipment.
  • How to Integrate and Maintain Crestron Systems
  • Experienced in Crestron, Extron, Cisco VC, CAD, software, MSOffice, MS Project, MS
  • Visio required
  • Audio and video production; graphic design principles.
  • Personal computers, preferably Mac, PC, required
  • Operating systems; OS and Microsoft

Experience
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in technical administration of video conferencing systems.
  • Minimum of one year experience with production and design on Intel processor-based PCs.


Working Conditions:

  • Position is full-time, eight hours per day, five days per week, with occasional evening and
  • weekend hours. Occasional travel to off-site locations can be anticipated.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to:
  • Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students while providing exceptional
  • customer service.
  • Ability to research, prepare, and present cost estimates, budget reports, capacity forecasting,
  • and systems upgrade recommendations.
  • Provide effective training on innovations in technology.
  • Manage time, organize duties/assignments, and set priorities to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Work effectively and accurately with multiple interruptions.

Experience:
  • Experience working in a higher education environment preferred.
  • Hands-on experience designing, installing, and troubleshooting cabling and wiring systems.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related field is desired.
  • Certified Infocomm CTS is highly desired.
  • Crestron Fusion Certified is highly desired.
  • Crestron Programmer preferred.
  • CCNA-Collaboration desired.
  • Certified Digital Media Crestron Designer (DMCE) desired.

Physical Requirements

  • Work performed primarily in a general office and classroom/conference room environment.
  • Exposure to cooler temperatures and noise within a server room environment can be anticipated.
  • Position requires sitting, standing, and walking a majority of working hours with occasional bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and grasping. Frequent use of computer keyboard and telephone.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment up to 40 lbs.
Hiring Range $30.54 - $45.41 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
