JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is seeking applications for the position of Vice Chancellor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Reporting to the Chancellor, the position has responsibility for the academic planning and administration of Penn State Behrend programs, for undergraduate and academic support units, and serves on University-wide leadership groups.

This position provides leadership and responsibility for academic planning and assessment along with strategic planning, associated budgetary support, academic program policy and administration, curricular development, academic program evaluation, shared governance, and a broad range of administration of academic policies and procedures; oversees the Behrend Honors Program, the Schreyer’s Honors Program at Behrend, Academic Advising Center, the Registrar’s Office, the Center for E-Learning Initiatives, the Center for Teaching Initiatives, and the Learning Resource Center; collaborates with faculty and School Directors to determine curricular portfolio, develop new programs, modification of existing programs, and oversees processes for curricular change; advances and supports the diversity of the student body, the faculty, and staff.

Candidates must possess a terminal degree and have significant academic and administrative experience. Credentials appropriate for a tenured appointment at the rank of professor, preferably in a field of study offered at Penn State Behrend, are highly desired. The salary is competitive.
