Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
Position Summary
Primary purposes of position: As a Temporary Web Developer for the UNC department, UNC’s in-house web team that offers central web-based development and hosting services for the Dataverse Project. Job Responsibilities are as follows: 
  • Grant-funded web development using the Dataverse Project software
  • Manages and performs moderately complex programming tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Design, analyze, and plan moderately complex projects
  • Ensure key deliverables are completed within prescribed deadlines.
  • Consult with internal and external clients on moderately complex issues/projects.
  • Make recommendations on technology applications and technical solutions.
  • Some decision-making related to projects

  • Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
    High School Diploma, 0-2 years experience, Programming training/coursework
    Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
    The selected candidate will need a solid grasp of Web Development to solve user issues, improve design, change styles, etc.
    • Basic Linux systems knowledge
    • Java Programming
    • Python Programming
    • JavaScript Programming
    • API design and integration
