Essential Job Duties
As an integral member of the research team, the Research Assistant will perform a variety of duties in support of health research studies including completing follow up visits with study participants, administering informed consent and 24 hr dietary recall, managing sample collection, and collecting, documenting, filing and managing data.
Specific duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Distribute online forms based on participants preference and verify completion before appointment
2. Schedule and confirm scheduled appointments for follow ups
3. Administer informed consent including describing study procedures as well as risks and benefits of participation to study participants as needed
4. Administer 24 hr Dietary Recalls questionnaires
5. Collect all data and samples related to the study and work with the Study Manager to ensure all activities are completed
6. Maintain electronic and paper project files, and track payment processing; this includes the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Qualtrics and other computer applications
7. Complete follow-up with participants in person (at the participants home, in the office, public places, other desired location or study events), using web-based tools, by phone, and/or by mail
8. Process and manage specimens collected for the study (lab)
9. May perform other duties incidental to research activities as assigned
