Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
UNC-Chapel Hill collaborates with nearby NC State University to extend both universities’ temporary staffing power by operating as a shared service for both institutions. Under this partnership, University Temporary Services (UTS) provides exclusive temporary staffing services to UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State, employing candidates to work as temporary employees in a variety of jobs on both campuses.
Working at the one of these prestigious universities provides employees with the opportunity to gain valuable on-campus experience and references while acquiring and refining skills needed for a successful career. Positions vary in length from several days to several months and we offer part-time and full-time schedules.
Position Summary
The department is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide essential support to our department
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High School degree with some exposure to online accounting or business coursework.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio etc.)
Proactive, professional, and positive attitude.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with automation of processing of deposits and receipts
  • Assist with process automation for bank reconciliations, generate standardized templates
  • Review and assist with Annual financial report activities and production of the report
  • Review and document Cash Advance and Unclaimed Deposits process
  • Review and assist with University policy updates
  • Research pertinent GASB and FASB regulations, NACUBO updates, benchmark with peers
  • Assist with creating or designing an internal database to track clinical trial requests
  • Special projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
