Job Summary
The Facilities Department is looking to fill four (4) vacant positions.
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry, which may or may not be part of a training program; performing related work as required.
Must be able to work any shift or schedule. Overtime will be required as necessary.
Facilities employees may be required to report at their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions including snow removal duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and other maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Knowledge of tools and equipment used to perform tasks.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Ability to use, clean, repair, and maintain equipment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.

Physical Demands
  • Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
  • Requires climbing and balancing.
  • Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
  • Must work in noisy and crowded environments.
  • Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
  • Must be able to drive a mechanical vehicle.
  • Must be able to work in high places.
Required Qualifications
  • Some experience in general building and plant maintenance with some basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry work.
Preferred Qualifications
Salary $13.64 an hour
