Compensation :
Pay Range: $15.50 - $19.50 / hour

UAB Medicine supports work/life balance. The shifts available for this unit are:
- Full-Time AM: 3 12-hour shifts per week 8:00am - 8:00pm and every third weekend

Job Description:
To perform a variety of clerical tasks in support of nursing services of an assigned patient care unit. To effectively interact with patients, visitor's and other members of the patient care team in order to support the delivery of quality patient care. To interpret and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
1. Performs a variety of clerical duties in a manner that enhances the daily operation of the assigned nursing unit.
2. Demonstrates an awareness of the nursing unit, patient and personal safety.
3. Enhances the daily operation of the nursing unit by demonstrating organizational skills, ensuring availability of supplies, performing unit errands and assisting with patient transportation.
4. Demonstrates a willingness to be a team player by assisting members of the patient care team with special requests.
5. Follows established guidelines, policies and procedures.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

High School diploma or GED required. Depending on the unit/department or if the position works directly with patients, Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required or required to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
