Job Description:

We are a pioneering XR Lab within Fitchburg State University, committed to advancing the field of Healthcare training through immersive technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration. We are seeking highly motivated undergraduate students to join our team in the development of XR-based healthcare training applications for Nursing students. As a collaborator you will work closely with our Game Design intern, acting as subject matter experts, providing insights for the development of cutting-edge XR applications. Join us in pushing the boundaries of nursing education through immersive XR technology.

General Statement of Duties:

As an undergraduate  nursing student collaborator in our XR Lab, you will play a key role in the creation of XR-based healthcare training applications for Nursing education. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative, immersive experiences that enhance nursing education. You will gain hands-on experience in the field of XR development and game design, while contributing to the transformation of nursing education training. Key responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with undergraduate Intern from game design to provide nursing discipline specific insights..
  • Create interactive and immersive experiences that simulate nursing scenarios, procedures, and patient interactions.
  • Conduct user testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve application functionality and user experience.
  • Collaborate with the XR Lab team to support ongoing research projects and initiatives.

  • Requirements:

  • Junior or senior nursing student interested in developing serious games for nursing education.
  • A passion for XR technology and a commitment to enhancing nursing education through immersive experiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. The ideal candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, creative, and responsible.

  • Additional Information:

    This is a part-time, 5 hours per week for15 weeks offered to current undergraduate (junior or senior) nursing students only.
