Pay Range
The compensation for this appointment will range from $64,480 to $64,480 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.  

Position Summary Information


Summary
Develop, implement, and manage the admission recruitment program for the traditional
undergraduate program designed to attract the best possible pool of candidates in support of the school’s enrollment objectives. Designs and coordinates admissions outreach services and associated events.Establishes and delivers a wide range of advisement and liaison services.
Participates in or oversees the evaluation of applicant files for admissions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
  • Recruits new students in the United States with an emphasis in California.
  • Travel to, from, and within assigned recruiting territories, understanding that the length of trips may vary.
  • Visit high school campuses, community colleges, churches, youth camps, and affiliate association and state youth events.
  • Plan, arrange, and implements a personal recruitment schedule.
  • Advises students and families regarding educational opportunities and options, admission and other requirements, policies and procedures, transfer of credit, and financial assistance, as appropriate.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates programs, special projects and events, and other initiatives geared to recruiting students within targeted populations and facilitating admission into the undergraduate programs at California Baptist University.
  • Analyzes trends in student recruitment and retention programs and participates in the establishment and implementation of recruitment and retention strategies, resources, policies, and procedures.
  • Gives presentations for and in various settings such as parent nights in high schools or churches, community colleges, community groups, on-campus informational meetings, and other public audiences.
  • Assists with creating and distributing a range of resources and promotional materials designed for the recruitment and retention of students in targeted groups.
  • Reviews individual applications and evaluates candidates for admission eligibility; troubleshoot applications with problems and oversees and/or coordinates communications with applicants.
  • Maintains communication via telephone, correspondence, and/or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment, admission, and enrollment process.
  • Keep accurate records of recruiting activities and contacts.
  • Assist with other student service projects and events as requested.
  • Achieves aggressive monthly recruiting goals.
  • Interacts regularly with CBU’s enrollment leadership team to develop recruiting strategies and partnerships.
  • The position will require evening and weekend work and travel. A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable transportation are required.

    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including public speaking skills.
    • Must possess strong detail and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks under deadline stresses.
    • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
    • Thorough knowledge of Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures, and practices.
    • Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
    • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
    • Excellent telephone courtesy, knowledge, and experience.
    • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
    • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers; and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.     WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
    Education and/or Experience
    Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required. One
    to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of additional education,
    experience and/or training.
