Position Summary
UME: Coordinator of multiple non-required and two required UME programs in the M1, M2 M3 or M4 years. Program rotations vary from once per year to monthly with a participant range of 10-60 medical students at one time. Serves as Coordinator for the undergraduate (M1, M2, M3, M4) educational programs in the Department of Surgery (M3 clerkship, M4 Surgery Residency Preparatory Course; M4 Surgery Electives, Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP), M1 Rural Surgery Program, M1 Surgery Research Program of Excellence), M1-M4 Surgery Interest Group. Oversees and coordinates activities and ensures requirements are met related to institutional, program and board certification requirements. Acts as liaison between education program administrators and recipients. Manages recruitment, application and orientation process for all programs Responsible for management of revenues and expenses under direction of Education Administration. Performs other duties as required in a competent professional, respectful and collaborative manner. Moderate level of decision making under limited supervision encompassing a moderate level of complexity due to the nature/level of responsibilities.
