We are seeking a Transcript Analyst who will be responsible for examining, evaluating, and entering student academic records to determine Admission eligibility, as well as assisting with other undergraduate processing and answering admissions-related inquiries from prospective students, parents, and the academic departments. We envision our ideal individual will have a competency in communication skills, organizational skills, function well in a challenging environment, and be able to work effectively on projects independently. What you need to know 

Salary: $15.85 an Hour. (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience)

Position Details: Must be able to work extended hours during peak processing season.

 

Required Education and Experience:  

  • Associate Degree, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Two years of experience in general office or clerical type work .

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to understand, follow and give verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation applications and remote hosted meeting applications.

  • Ability to organize work effectively.

  • Ability to prioritize objectives with a high level of discretion and independent judgment and initiative.

  • Planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.  

  • 6 months of experience in college admissions, records, or departmental advising. 

  • Working knowledge of Banner and the college credit system 

Responsibilities:  

  • Processing - Examine, evaluate, and enter student academic records to determine admissions eligibility using the Document Imaging Workflow System and the student information system. Performs in depth analysis of specific application types for review by academic colleges, and/or departments. Examines, evaluates, and computes grade point averages. Determines transferability of course credit from colleges, universities, and other academic sources.

  • Customer Service - Provides administrative support as follows: Prepares yearly articulation guides for junior/senior colleges in Texas by evaluating undergraduate catalogs each year and maintains course database for every Texas college and university in Banner/Compass. Answers general office emails and assists with walk-in traffic and telephone inquiries from prospective students, their parents, etc. regarding a variety of admissions-related issues.

  • Administrative – Acts as a liaison for representatives from educational institutions as well as TAMU academic advisors/departments regarding Admissions related issues. Prepares admissions-related documents and assists academic colleges with review of admissions applications.

  • Special Projects – Handles special projects as assigned by a supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.
