Job Summary:

The Training and Development Program Manager position is a new position within Facilities Management that will be primarily responsible for coordinating the training programs in the Division of Facilities Projects, Facilities Support Services, Building Maintenance and Operation, Finance and Administration, Planning and Design and Infrastructure Safety and Compliance. The position will manage the Learning Management Software (LMS), apprenticeship administration and coordination, department succession planning, professional organizations liaison, and department training program coordination management. Coordination encompasses annual scheduling for workgroups and department-wide, finances, and certification management. The Training and Development Program Manager provides essential communication and networking for the effective functioning of the Facilities Management department. The position will serve as the backup/resource to the Customer Service Center Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manges all aspects of the department's LMS (Docebo) including users’ creations, workgroup assigning, assigning training per annual calendar, certification management, and user/department reporting.  
  • Creates annual calendar training calendar per JHA needs and responses. Coordinates with the Safety Program Manager on department training overlap and fiscal responsibility for training vendors, courses, and memberships. Trade certifications and licensure requirements assess departments' training needs, develop and maintain a strong and close working relationship with the Directors, Managers, and Supervisors within Facilities Management.
  • Attends and leads college engagements, maintains relationships with state and college connections, maintains organized documents for all apprentices within the department, maintains a relationship with department apprentices, and performs quarterly check-ins.
  • Creates programs by position group that would provide a competitive advantage in promotional interviews.
  • Serves as the back-up to the Customer Service Center Manager and aids in department projects as needed.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Public Administration, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2-5 years experience executing as a primary member within a training position/team 

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. At least two (2) years of the required experience must have included working with training methods and tools to enhance knowledge and skills.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience implementing training/development for a Facilities Management workgroup or a closely related field
  • Prior experience within a Facilities Management division and/ or working within a trades group.
  • Experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Organizational skills with the ability to plan and organize department needs and activities, establish work priorities, and provide follow through to ensure completion of activities, both individually and assisting others with work tasks.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to, become fully competent in computer programs essential to the training programs, including the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and training Learning Management Software. Software used may continue to change, so adaptability to new electronic programs and tools is essential.
  • Ability to manage budgets and carry out fiscal responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to understand and apply regulatory requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $75,000 - $85,000.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
