Job Overview

Applications are invited for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, which offers BA, MS, and Ph.D. degrees. We seek candidates in Mathematical Biology with research interests in complementary areas such as, but not limited to, Numerical Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data.


Essential Functions
  • Maintaining an active research program in mathematical biology.  
  • Mentoring graduate students. 
  • Teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses, including but not limited to graduate-level applied mathematics courses.  
  • Filling service roles for the university and mathematical community, such as participation in department and college committees, and engagement with professional organizations. 

 

The standard teaching load for research-active faculty is six credit hours (approximately two courses) per semester. New faculty receives a 25% teaching reduction and reduced service role in each of the first two years.


Minimum Requirements

Prior to the date of appointment, must have:

  • Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field.
