Job Description:

The Department of Mathematics at Bellarmine University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2024.  This position requires someone with a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment.  We encourage applicants who have a commitment to pedagogies that help close equity gaps, foster success for learners from diverse backgrounds and strive to improve retention rates in mathematics classes. Experience in teaching with technology is expected, and knowledge of a computer algebra system is desired.  A Ph.D. in Mathematics by August 2024 is necessary. 

The teaching load is 21 credit hours over 2 semesters, which is typically 6 or 7 courses per academic year.  The Department of Mathematics offers both a BA and BS in mathematics, a BS in actuarial science, an interdisciplinary BS in Data Science, plus preparation for certification in secondary teaching.  We have our own computer teaching laboratory, and most service courses utilize graphing calculators.  Faculty also have the opportunity to teach in Bellarmine's interdisciplinary program and honors program.
