The College of Science and Technology (CST) hosts over 45 baccalaureate degree programs, numerous minors, and certificate programs that span science, mathematics, technology, science and math education.  CST includes six academic departments: Biology, Chemistry, Computer & Information Sciences, Earth & Environmental Science, Mathematics and Physics. Through its innovative Undergraduate Research Program, students work side-by-side with experienced faculty researchers in the lab, in the field and in the classroom. The college’s Science Education and Research Center, with modern research and teaching labs, is one of the most advanced facilities of its kind on the East Coast.

Job Description

The College of Science and Technology’s Physics Department at Temple University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as an Assistant Professor in Theoretical Nuclear Physics, expected to begin September 1, 2024.  Initially, this position will be funded in part by the DOE Topical Collaboration on Quark-Gluon Tomography and possibly by the RIKEN BNL Research Center. 

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a doctorate in an appropriate field.  We are especially interested in candidates with experience in perturbative and non-perturbative QCD, the parton structure of hadrons, and the physics of the Electron Ion Collider, but candidates in all subfields are welcome to apply.  Candidates should have demonstrated an ability to perform excellent research and show promise for high-quality Physics teaching.
