The Physics Department at Cleveland State University has an opening for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Physics. The successful applicant is expected to co-direct the CAMPEP accredited MS in medical physics program, to carry out a program of research in medical physics, to secure external funding, to advise research projects for medical physics students, to teach physics course predominantly in the Medical Physics program and to provide service to the department, college, and university. The starting date of the appointment is August 21, 2017. The Department of Physics offers B.S., B.A., and M.S. degrees in Physics and a CAMPEP-accredited M.S. degree in Medical Physics jointly administered with the Cleveland Clinic. Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field and prior teaching experience in physics or a closely related field. (Completed by July 1, 2017)
Preferred qualifications: Post-doctoral or equivalent experience in medical physics; Research and/or clinical experience in a CAMPEP accredited medical physics program or equivalent; a record of strong scholarship; potential for success in obtaining external funding; research experience in medical physics; potential for collaboration in the area of Medical Physics with other Northeast Ohio institutions; ability to contribute to the cultural diversity of the University and the discipline through teaching, research, and service; the ability to effectively teach medical physics courses; ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
