Job Title: Temporary Simulation Health Care Assistant

This is a Temporary Classified position limited to no more than 9-months

 

Job Summary:

The University of Colorado, College of Nursing, is seeking a semi-skilled Clinical Simulation Temporary Assistant requiring the application of various knowledge and experience. This position will need to follow established guidelines and checklists in the execution of assigned duties. Duties will vary from shift to shift, and it will be essential to prioritize based on communicated guidance from the direct supervisor. This position will have a varied schedule depending on simulation needs, and the hourly weeks will generally range between 20 – 40 hours per week. 

The College of Nursing, On-Site Clinical Simulation Program includes the Clinical Education Center (CEC). This innovative clinical learning environment prepares nursing students for safe patient care in today’s complex healthcare systems. The Clinical Education Center promotes a safe environment for student nurses to learn the foundational skills needed to care for patients, but they also know professionalism and the nurse’s role. This pioneering area within the College of Nursing is on the leading edge for integrating informatics into nursing education. Through a partnership with the University of Colorado Hospital, the Clinical Education Center can allow students to engage in electronic medical records. Adding a Care Fusion Pyxis machine to immolate electronic medication dispensing into undergraduate clinical education will give students the best practices in safe medication practices. The Clinical Education Center is available across the College of Nursing curriculum and on the Anschutz Medical Campus as a clinical resource across professions. The On-Site Clinical Simulation Program also includes a Simulation Suite at the Anschutz Medical Campus and Legacy Innovation Center Campus. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • CEC space is organized, clean, supplies stocked, and well maintained; each bedside returned to basic set-up.
  • Put away supplies in the proper location after use - labels, armbands, medications.
  • General maintenance and upkeep of task trainers and models (IV arms, pelvic models, wound trainers).
  • I nventory supplies utilizing an inventory checklist.
  • Put away supplies and deliveries securely at AMC in the proper location.
  • Organization of paperwork needed for activities (including copying, printing, collating, stapling, etc.)
  •   Assists Administration to proactively support all teaching staff anticipating course needs-supplies, set-up, tech support.
  •   Following established guidelines and checklists, set up and breakdown CEC course rooms, including paperwork, supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Simulation Environment, as needed, assist Sim Tech.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Anschutz Medical Campus and Legacy Innovation Center (Lone Tree)

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position, including customer service, administrative work, simulation related work, etc.

Substitution: Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
  • Experience in a medical and/or health care support position, such as a medical assistant, LPN, etc.
  • Experience with a wide variety of technology and software, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc

Anticipated Pay Range:

The hiring rate for this position has been established at $20.10 / hour.  The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.
