Position Description:

The Department of Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences is in search for a part time temporary Research Assistant for a position for a study focusing on HIV vulnerability and HIV testing for African American young adults in Louisville, Kentucky. The employee will work in the lab of Dr. Jelani Kerr in the Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences Department at the University of Louisville.  Responsibilities may include data collection and analysis, tracking and retention of research participants, database management, performing community outreach and education, participant recruitment, and other duties as assigned.   

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Training and experience conducting community-engaged research
  • Previous research experience with individuals from socially marginalized backgrounds
  • Experience with survey research processes including consent, administration, and payment
  • Experience tracking and retaining participants for survey data collection
  • Training and experience with delivery of health promotion and education programming
  • Knowledge and experience on translating research results to lay communities
  • Training in ethical conduct of research
  • BS in Public Health or related field
  • Prior experience conducting research in community-based settings
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
