Job Summary
This position is a 12 - 16 week temporary laborer on refuse and recycling routes on campus
As a Temporary Equipment and Materials Operator, you will:
- assist the driver in backing up to trash containers, making sure safety latches are in place before lifting the container, operating the levers in the proper manner to lift and dump the containers.
- The work hours are 6am - 2:30pm Mon - Fri with possible Over Time on weekends.
- Minor equipment maintenance skills preferred.
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. frequently during course of day, and up to 100 lbs. daily required.
- Works outdoors 95% of the time; ability to work in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees.
- Exposed to conditions associated with Refuse and Recycling such as dust, odors, mold, toxic chemicals (unsecured containers), pollen, noise, and dead animals.
- Ability to climb in and out of Refuse Truck frequently daily.
