Job Title: Temporary Education Assistant

 

This is a Temporary position limited to no more than 9-months. 

 

Job Summary:

The Department of Ophthalmology has an open position for 9-month temporary professional to support our education team. This part-time position, maximum 20 hours per week, is responsible for administrative support in the Department of Ophthalmology. Responsibilities for this position include supporting several fellowship programs, supporting the residency program and other education team initiatives. The individual in this position will work both independently and in collaboration with education staff and program leadership. This role is ideal for someone who has spent a few years working in a clinical and/or academic medicine environment and is interested in a short term assignment assisting the education team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position works in collaboration with the Fellowship Program Coordinator, providing support to faculty programs to implement the goals and objectives of the residency/fellowship programs.
  • Assists fellowship coordinator and the PDs in planning, developing, and implementing student/residency/fellowship program quality improvement projects through meeting coordination, document preparation, and tracking.
  • Assist in management of annual recruitment including the administration of resident/fellow selection and the MATCH process.
  • Assist in reimbursements to residents/fellows/faculty.
  • Assists with current and new updates of the ACGME and/or LCME requirements and procedures to help maintain program compliance and accreditation by logging into website regularly and reviewing/taking action on program updates sent by those entities.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of events for the faculty. The functions may include preparing flyers, booking conference rooms, booking travel for visiting speakers, creating itineraries for the visitors, and serving as the on-site contact for visitors during the duration of their visit. 

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule, the majority of time will be remote with the occasional possibility of days on campus.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • One (1) year experience in higher education
  •  One (1) year of professional level experience in higher education within an education team that supports medical students and fellowship.

A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of previous education experience on the Anschutz Medical Campus

    Anticipated Pay Range:

    The hiring rate for this position has been established at $35.00 / hour.  The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.
