PRIMARY ROLE: Work in a neuropharmacology research laboratory studying addiction. Provide research and administrative support to the PI and other lab members in a neuropharmacology research laboratory studying addiction. Assist with all aspects of researcher projects, managing animal colonies and following standard operating protocols. Is responsible for collecting and analyzing data, writing results and contributing to written manuscripts.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
80% Research: 
⢠Assist in the development and implementation of research projects, including data collection, analysis and interpretation
⢠Collect and complete complex analysis of data from experiments.
⢠Assist in managing the mouse colonies, including breeding, identification, weaning, genotyping.
⢠Assist in maintaining up to date records on colony status.
⢠Give oral and poster presentations on research projects.
20% Lab operations: 
⢠Participate in lab meetings and scientific discussions, and assist in manuscript writing and editing. Follow standard operating protocol to ensure maintenance of equipment, proper inventory and order reagents related to general lab function and research projects.
⢠Support the lab operations to ensure proper equipment and animal colony maintenance.
 

Bachelor's degree required. 

Animal colony maintenance experience

Knowledge of lab safety protocols 

Experience performing basic biochemical techniques (western blotting, PCR), 

Basic laboratory research skills (keeping a research notebook, recording data, analyzing data, writing reports)
