Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Temporary Staff Member to join our Volunteer Giving Initiatives Team. This role will play a critical part in helping the team achieve its goals for Fiscal Year 2024 (FY 24) and lay the groundwork for FY 25. The primary focus will be on recruiting key volunteer leaders to engage their peers and increase philanthropic support for Cornell University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Giving Initiatives Team to identify and recruit key volunteer leaders who can effectively solicit increased gifts from their peers.

  • Manage large datasets and lists to organize outreach and document responses.

  • Prepare volunteer materials and resources, ensuring they are tailored to support volunteer outreach and solicitation activities.

  • Support volunteer management efforts, including communication, coordination, and follow-up with volunteer leaders.

  • Contribute to strategic planning discussions and provide insights based on data analysis to optimize volunteer-driven fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Data-minded individual with a strong analytical aptitude and intermediate or greater proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a team-oriented environment.

  • Comfortable communicating with internal and external partners via phone, email, Teams, and Basecamp.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities and timelines.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented with a proactive and strategic approach to problem-solving.

  • Experience in volunteer management or fundraising is a plus but not required.

Duration and Environment: This is a temporary position, 20 hours per week, focused on supporting the Volunteer Giving Initiatives Team through July, with the potential to extend further based on performance and organizational needs. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a dynamic team, contributing to the growth and success of Cornell University's philanthropic initiatives.

Pay Range: $32.50 - $33.00/hr
