Posting Summary | Serve as the lead on a portfolio of programs that supports youth learning and development of critical work and life skills. Oversee and provide leadership, program development, coordination, and teaching for both county programs as well as statewide and national leadership and teen focused programming through UVM Extension 4-H Youth Development. This includes identifying, training, supervising, and collaborating with volunteers and staff, analysis of enrollment and population demographics, strategic thinking, fundraising, promoting and helping to expand 4-H efforts, through innovative and collaborative youth programs and partnerships. This is done with minimal supervision, individually and in collaboration with a statewide team of 4-H educators and one program manager. |
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Master’s degree and four years’ related experience with focus in youth programming required, with emphasis on teen and leadership programming desired. Competency in youth, volunteer and program development. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate, teach and evaluate educational programs. Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with youth and adult volunteers, in a team environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate clear goals. Computer and electronic communication proficiency. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a collaborative environment . Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, which will include evenings, weekends, and travel, primarily within the state. |

Anticipated Pay Range | $55,000 to $62,000 |
Other Information | Position will be located in a UVM Extension Field office, where space exists. Occasional night and weekend hours; occasional interaction with livestock animals and/or inclement weather at county, regional and state events. |
Special Conditions | Position located in different city, Weekend work required, Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position |
