Summary of Job Duties:

The Technology Solutions Specialist Team Lead is part of the Enterprise Applications and Data Services (EADS) Department within the University Information Technology Services (UITS) organization. This role reports to the Director of Enterprise Data and oversees the work of the technology solutions team by ensuring alignment with the strategic plan of the departments, prioritizing project and operational tasks, and coaching team members in their professional development. The technology solutions team assists with creating documentation of practices, procedures, and standards; collects, creates, and curates a repository of technical documents within UITS; and works with existing internal technical documentation to align with standards and policies. This team also analyzes the needs of campus users to develop requirements for IT Services solutions that provide value to the organization.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work and education experience

  • Excellent written communications skills as evidenced by application materials

  • Experience working in a higher education environment

  • Experience creating technical documentation with focus on integrations, processes, workflows, and producing graphical representations of data (charts, graphs, flowcharts, models)

  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical individuals

Applicable equivalencies may be considered.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills such as in collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills

  • Experience prioritizing project tasks and managing resources

  • Experience in the testing and deployment of new applications/processes and enhancements to existing applications/processes


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of a higher education organization, including goals and objectives, and policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of business process improvement methods and quality management

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, authoring software, diagramming tools, web-conferencing tools, video production and editing tools, IT Service Management tools

  • Knowledge of project management principles, business case development, and organizational change management

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience communicating proactively with team members and stakeholders at all levels

  • Skills necessary to develop and assess key performance indicators and implement measures to improve performance

  • Ability to improve business, functional, and technical processes by working with subject matter experts across diverse teams.

  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with clients, faculty, students, team members, and peers across the institution
