Job Description
TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE 1, Biology, to join a research team studying how gene expression and genome architecture are coupled. Will be part of a multinational consortium that was recently funded to develop small molecule compounds to target proteins that are involved in the development and progression of pediatric cancers. The work will involve protein expression, protein purification, molecular cloning, cell culture work, and structure determination. Will also assist with lab organization, including reagent maintenance. The group uses biochemical and structural approaches including X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM to analyze how machines involved in gene expression and genome organization interact and regulate each other's activity.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in biochemistry, genetics, biophysics, molecular biology or related field; at least two years of work experience in a biochemistry/molecular biology laboratory (this may include experience gained as an undergraduate); strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. PREFERRED: Experience with molecular cloning and cell culture. Job #23822
