Position Summary

The University of New Mexico, College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (CULLS) has an opening for a full time Technical Support Analyst 2 to join the Library Information Technology Department.  This position is not remote. You are required to be on campus.  We are responsible for supporting enterprise-wide mission-critical solutions associated with CULLS core teaching and learning mission. These include supporting of video conferencing, digital signage, and classroom/conference room related audio-visual technologies, SharePoint, and Workstation Management.  You must be comfortable physically moving equipment around the various buildings supported by the college. A resume and cover letter are required as part of your application.
The successful candidate will have a combination of strong technical, communication, and organizational skills; excellent problem-solving skills; solid end-user documentation skills, and experience with working in a technical support center. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with hardware and software vendors, as well as having strong hardware and software skills. Preferred candidates have experience troubleshooting end user issues with accessing and using technology. Candidate must be comfortable using a variety of tools and techniques including phone, e-mail, knowledge-base and trouble ticketing applications. Good customer service skills a must as this position provides in-person help and training. This position may occasionally work evening and weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting audiovisual components.
  • Experience with Active Directory, file services, print services, & updates.
  • Experience with general desktop support in a managed environment to include imaging, software packaging, and patching using system management tools such as Ivanti, ZENworks, SCCM, etc.
  • Ability to support users and solve problems on desktop applications and web services across multiple platforms and devices.
  • Experience with SharePoint workflows from the designer perspective.
  • Experience with managing Mac OSX.
  • Experience gathering requirements from stakeholders and working with external vendors on technical projects.
  • Familiarity with writing or creating technical documentation and presenting or communicating technical information to non-technical users.
  • Experienced working as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills in person and over email or messaging services.
